Frequently Asked Questions

"I don't want to be sore for my games. Should I still lift in-season?"

We hear this a lot. The short answer: yes. In-season lifting isn't about crushing yourself in the weight room, it's about maintaining the strength and power you built in the offseason so it doesn't disappear by playoffs. We program in-season work differently: lighter loads, lower volume, focused on keeping you explosive without wearing you down. The athletes who stop lifting in-season are the ones who fade in the second half.

"My kid is 10, isn't it too early to start lifting?"

This is one of the most common questions we get from parents, and the answer might surprise you. Age-appropriate strength training is one of the best things a young athlete can do, it builds coordination, body awareness, and confidence, and it actually reduces injury risk. We're not putting 10-year-olds under a barbell. We're teaching them how to move well, build athletic habits, and develop a foundation they'll carry into every sport they play.

"Can't I just work out on my own at a regular gym?"

You can, but there's a difference between exercising and training. A regular gym gives you equipment. We give you a plan built specifically for your sport, your body, and your goals, plus a coach who adjusts it as you progress. Most athletes working out on their own are guessing. They don't know if they're doing the right exercises, in the right order, at the right intensity. That's the gap a certified coach fills.

"Do I really need to train in the offseason? I'd rather rest."

Rest is important, but the offseason isn't just for rest. It's the only time of year where you can focus 100% on getting stronger, faster, and more durable without games getting in the way. The athletes who train in the offseason come back noticeably different. The ones who don't? They spend the first month of the season trying to catch up. This is where the real separation happens.
